The District 31 Education Foundation’s mission is to fund initiatives that will equip our district with the best in class educational environment, with a particular focus on supporting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in the classroom.  The world and job market of the future will be focused in these areas and the Foundation is committed to supporting the preparation of our children to compete in the new world.

[elevation_section_title title=”Objectives” subtitle=””]
  • To fund creative, hands-on, cutting edge initiatives to make District 31 the best place it can be!
  • Engage and secure funds from new and alternative sources, inside and outside of District 31.
  • Leverage our wonderfully diverse demographics.
  • Create a mix of high effort/low effort and high funds/low funds fundraisers.
  • Continue the foundation’s history of creating special events that tailor to high potential donors in our district, while adding select events that engage and cater to the broader population of the district.
  • Create a board development culture that will ensure the continuity of the board for years to come.
  • Actively partner with the district and PTC to make our kids school experience stronger.
  • Try things, learn, and adjust.  Have fun, make friends, and enjoy the ride.

We strive to have a diverse board that represents District 31.  We ensure board members can volunteer as little or as much as they want, keeping monthly meetings to task and high impact.  We agree that much work gets done in the subcommittees, so that individuals can contribute (join one or all subcommittees) as little or as much as they want.  The minimum commitment is to attend our monthly meetings barring any conflicts (live or dial in), and help on the Winter Benefit and 5K initiatives each year.  We strive to make it easy to help, so that busy parents can make high impact contributions on their terms.
